Brenda Joyce Judge

January 30, 1945 — March 27, 2024

Brenda Joyce Judge, affectingly known as Joy to her Grandfather, began her life in Wasauksing First Nation.  Gifted to her parents Walter and Lilian Judge (nee Manitowaba) and older sister Harriet in 1945.  She frolicked and grew and welcomed siblings Loretta and Mary Louise and a little farther down the line, Rita, Jack and Debora.

In her early life, she left for the big city of Toronto to attend Beauty School and become a Hair Dresser.   Hair became her lifes work.  During this time she would welcome her eldest daughter, Natalie Ruth.  Ruth would go on to gift her mother with two Grandsons and four Great Grand Daughters.

Brenda would return to Parry Sound and with the help of her Father would open and run Beauty World for many years. She would be fondly remembered long after the hair salon closed for her great service and permanent curls for all. During this time she would welcome her young Prince Christopher Stacy who go on to give her so much pride with his young sportsman gifts.

Before leaving Parry Sound, she would welcome her baby daughter, Shannon Tara.  Shannon would go on to gift her mother a Granddaughter and a Grandson.

Onwards, she would take her little family to Toronto once again, connecting with her Sisters and their growing families and then settling in Barrie.  All the while working in hair salons and making sure every one of her children sported Permanent Curls as much as she could. And of course curling her own naturally straight hair.

Brenda would work in many hair salons in Barrie for many years, until she began to lose her sight.   She was welcomed into the CNIB community which she would cherish until her final days as support and friendship. Brenda was also welcomed into the Heritage Baptist Church flock where she would attend to be reunited with her Christian beliefs as she had known as a child.  Brenda has grown many wonderful friendships and found great comfort in the church community until her passing.
