Brenda Marie Bigelow (Calce) passed away peacefully and comfortably at her residence, Hilltop Manor in Cambridge, on February 28, 2026, at the age of 84.

Brenda was the eldest of 17 children and was especially cherished by her siblings Ron, Dan, Wendy, and Trish, as well as her nieces Erin and Nicole.

She was a loving mother to Jim (Pauline), Richard (Debbie), and John (Kelly). Brenda was a deeply devoted Nana to Justin, Lillian, and Roxy, and a proud and beloved great-grandmother (G.G.) to Mason.

She was predeceased by her husbands Paul McBride, Thomas McMillian Whyte and Stanley Bigelow.

Brenda was a woman of strong faith with a lifelong passion for animals. She was generous and resilient through many of life’s challenges. Kind and curious, she possessed a marvellous sense of humour. At times impulsive and spirited, she was also known to be a force to be reckoned with — a strength that carried her through life with determination and heart.

A Celebration of Life and reception will be held on March 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeside Church, 7654 Conservation Road, Guelph, Ontario
