Peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on April 12th, 2024 Barb found her peace after a long battle with cancer.
She leaves behind her daughter Rachel (Inwood Burgess) Pereira, (Ian Pereira) and her two loving and beautiful granddaughters Ava Mae and Emma Faith who were the light of her life, as well as many beautiful friendships.
Barbara was born and raised in Chatham Ontario. She later moved to Ottawa and gained employment as a photographic retoucher and won many awards and worked with many of the best in the industry.
She later went on to start her own photography business located in her new hometown of Embrun , where her soft and elegant photographs captured the moments of many families & friends in Embrun and surrounding areas. Barb made quite a name for herself & was a part of many art groups in her community where she made many friendships that continue until this day.
She loved her gardens as well. Flowers and plants made her so happy! Barb was a lady of many trades. She was very creative in everything she did. She was a fabulous cook and an excellent baker. She learned to sew again in her last few years, making beautiful clothes for her grandchildren.
Her last few years were spent in Osgoode, close to her family, but her real love was White Lake. She absolutely loved her beautiful tranquil home there that she enjoyed for many years. Making beautiful memories and friendships.
Barb was a strong woman, both mentally and physically. The mountains she climbed in her life many people would have crumbled upon, but not Barb. She was determined and hard headed at times, but she was so easy to love. She was spunky, wild, quick whittled, kind and caring to all. Everyone who met her knew she had a heart of gold. If you were lucky enough to have her in your life, you already know this!
