Barbara June Elaschuk (née Roncetti)

Barbara June Elaschuk (née Roncetti), died peacefully on February 5, 2026 at Castleview Wychwood Towers Long-term Care home in Toronto at the age of 90.

Barbara was the former spouse of William Elaschuk and is survived by her three children, Bill, Lori and Lisa; her grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Melanie and Nicholas, and her great-grandson Cayson. 

Born in Toronto in 1935, Barbara was the oldest of a family of eight siblings. She grew up downtown and learned to cook with her Italian grandmother in the Ward. Throughout her life, Barbara was known as a great cook and her food was always much appreciated at family gatherings. Sadly, in her later years, Barbara developed Alzheimer’s Disease and she was admitted to long-term care. 

The family would like to extend thanks to the wonderful staff at Castleview Wychwood Towers, for the exceptional care Barbara received in the last 12 years. With special gratitude to the 4th floor staff, especially SB who cared so much for Barbara during her time there, and kept her safe through years of lockdowns and outbreaks.

Cremation has taken place.
