Obituary

  • Dear Heavenly Father; We thank you for the gift and love of our departed Audrey Eunice Dance, lovingly known as Augie, to whom you called home on October 11, 2025, to sit alongside her husband Ralph Henry Dance, lovingly known as Popo, to worship and rejoice in your presence. You blessed Audrey to live a full and adventurous 100 years on earth, sharing her love, faith and generosity with many. Audrey worked as a Filing Supervisor at Clarkson & Gordon C.A. Firm for 25 years and after Audrey retired, both Audrey and Ralph became volunteers at Scarborough Grace Hospital.  Audrey received a certificate from Scarborough Grace Hospital for completing 561 hours as a dedicated volunteer. Audrey served faithfully as a Salvation Army Soldier alongside her husband Ralph. The love, acceptance and life well lived with a caring and faithful servant heart, especially in caring for her husband during his illness, will live on and continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know Audrey. Audrey was known for her devotion to her family and community. While we miss Audrey, we can feel comfort and joy knowing she is with you, our Lord and Saviour in Heaven where there is no pain, sorrow or worries. We rejoice in the gift of salvation you offer us and the hope to be reunited with Audrey again in Your presence. Audrey was born in Stratford, Ontario to Florence and Gordon Ransome on November 14, 1924. Audrey had 4 siblings Helen, Gladys, Gordon, and Barbara. Audrey married Ralph her loving husband on June 22, 1946, and she was happily married for 66 years until Ralph’s passing in 2012. Audrey has been reunited in Heaven with her husband, Ralph along with both her parents, all her siblings and her first son-in-law Barry Spittal. Audrey is remembered by her only daughter Linda (Michael), grandchildren Tammy, Ralph (Lisa), great-grandchildren Krystle-Lynn, Krystin, Kelsie, Kassidy, and great-great grandchildren Aubree, Addeline, and Dawson. Audrey is also remembered by extended family, including her brother-in-law Eddie, and many nieces and nephews, along with her friends.
  • The Celebration of Life will be held at Salvation Army Agincourt Community Church, 3080 Birchmount Rd. (north of Finch), on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11 a.m.
  • If you would like to honour Audrey Dance with a gift, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in her name may be made to the Hospital for Sick Kids, the Salvation Army or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
