It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Tony Covillo on Sunday, November 16th, in the comfort and presence of his wife Gloria. He will be remembered for his good humour and dedication to family and friends.
Tony enjoyed a memorable and adventure-filled 2025; he visited friends of 50+ years in Vancouver, vacationed on a Caribbean cruise, booked a wonderful cross Canada train trip celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary, and many out of town family celebrations. Tony was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in late October. Thank you to the caring team at May Court Hospice.
Tony was born in Montreal, graduated from Loyola College (Concordia University), and spent his career in sales and technical support in the marine industry. He enjoyed travelling, cruising, collecting antique toys and hockey memorabilia, the Montreal Canadiens, driving his Mercedes, and Lays chips.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Gloria, his sister Linda, brother Perry (Mary), his niece and nephews: Daniel (Christina), Tina, Steven (Emma), and Michael (Sara), grand nieces and nephews: Nicola (Anit), Olivia, Maxi, and Sonny, and the many who have called him a friend over the years. Tony is predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Jeanine.
Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts during this difficult time. We are incredibly grateful for the friendship we have shared with you over the years, and especially during this difficult time. For those who are able, please give generously to May Court Hospice, The Canadian Cancer Society, or the Ottawa Food Bank in his memory.
