Annelies (Louisa) Vidoni (nee Kronenberg)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in her 94th year. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Renzo in 2005. Survived by her two loving children, Marco (Shirley) Vidoni and Sandra (Ben) Colasanti, her six adored grandchildren, Samantha Vidoni (Trent Bowden), Alex (Janna) Vidoni, Mattia Colasanti (Joseph Allaham), Nicolas Vidoni (Brook Shepherd), Giancarlo Colasanti (Stephanie Henderson), and Domenic Vidoni (Tara McNicoll) and her eight cherished, great-grandchildren, Ella, Theo and Isaac Vidoni, Renzo and Armando Allaham, Jaxson and Ava Bowden and Georgia Vidoni, who were the loves of her life.

Annelies was born in Switzerland and immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1950 with her family where she attended Nursing College. She moved to Ottawa shortly after to further her nursing career as a private nurse and then at the Montfort Hospital. Her favourite nursing station was the nursery where she cared and nurtured for newborn babies.

Annelies met the love of her life in Ottawa and married Renzo Vidoni on October 15, 1955. She managed the family household while raising her two children and caring for her mother-in-law. Her house was always full of family and friends and Annelies was the most gracious hostess and the most fabulous cook. Her passing leaves immeasurable void in the lives of her family and friends whom she loved dearly and deeply.

Thank you to the staff at the Waterford Grand Retirement Home in Barrhaven, where she lived for over three years. She loved it there and made many new friends.

Thank you to the Queensway Carleton Hospital and their offsite location at Park Place Retirement Home for their ongoing care and compassion.

As per Annelies’ wishes, there will only be a small family service.

For those wishing, donations may be made to the Dementia Society, Ottawa and Renfrew Chapter.
