It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ann Miller on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Ann was born in Ottawa to the late Helen Miller (Paisley, Scotland) and Earl Miller (Ottawa). She is lovingly remembered by her partner of 25 years, Rick Wallace and his children Amber (Shane) and David (Melissa). She will be missed by her grandchildren, Madeleine and Mitchell, who affectionately called her Ma Ann. She was a cherished and loving sister to Robert Miller (Kathryn White) and beloved aunt to Cameron (Adam Cross), Nori (Dylan Jennessey) and Chap, and special aunt to great nieces James and Cole.
Ann attended Hillcrest High School and graduated from Algonquin College. She enjoyed a 32-year career with the federal public service, most recently with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
Ann was happiest in her garden, cultivating tomatoes and trying, unsuccessfully, to keep away the squirrels. She and Rick loved to cook complex dishes, often driving around town in search of an elusive ingredient. Ann loved to travel and spoke fondly of trips taken with her father, Earl, Rick and brother Robert (always Bob to Ann), including an epic trip with Bob to Australia to visit her niece Cameron.
She had an amazing circle of friends from many chapters of her life - childhood, NRCan and her gym - whom she cared about deeply.
