Amal Giacopello

May 10, 1942 — December 24, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amal Giacopello, who left us peacefully at the age of 82 on December 24, 2024. Amal was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and a cherished friend. She touched the lives of all who knew her with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering love for her family.

Born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1942, Amal’s journey was one filled with love, dedication, and grace. She married the love of her life, Antonino Giacopello, and together they shared a beautiful life, raising two children—Giuseppe and Rita—who were the light of her life. She was the proud and adoring grandmother to Angelina, Dante, and Isabella, with whom she shared many treasured moments.

Amal was known for her nurturing spirit, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love of cooking was a hallmark of her generosity, as she would often be found in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals to bring joy to those around her. Whether hosting family dinners or caring for her beloved pets, Hershey, Cookie, and Geena, Amal's home was a place of warmth and love.

Throughout her life, Amal’s passion for music was evident. She adored the classics, with Frank Sinatra, Abba, and Julio Iglesias being among her favorite artists. Her love of music, combined with her vibrant personality, brought joy to many gatherings, where she would often sing along and share her favorite tunes.

Amal was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She will be remembered for her selflessness, her genuine interest in the lives of those she loved, and her constant ability to bring people together. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched with her kindness and love.

Amal’s memory will forever be cherished by her beloved husband Antonino, her son Giuseppe, and his wife Radhika, her daughter Rita and her husband the late Salvo, her grandchildren Isabella, Angelina and Dante, her niece Zina and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
