Allan Charles Stewart
Stewart, Allan (Ally) of Lion’s Head, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly, with family at his side at LHSC, London on Friday, January 12, 2024, in his 72nd year.
Al will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend of 49 years, Connie. Cherished father of Julie Hawke (Jason) of Sauble Beach, Chad Stewart (Melissa) of Lion’s Head, and Stephanie Weatherhead (Cassidy) of Miller Lake. Much loved Grandfather of Natalie Weatherhead (Brock) of Miller Lake, Allie Russell (Dan) of Allenford, Autumn Edgar (Chris) of Allenford, Sahara and Eden Weatherhead, Elise and Caysie Stewart, Ella and Thomas Hawke. Dear brother and friend of Alvin Stewart of Owen Sound, Ainsley Stewart of Feversham, Morgan Stewart (Linda) of Innisfil, Janet Mackie (Verd) of Wiarton. Predeceased by his parents Jean (nee Rydall) and Harold Stewart, brother Harvey Stewart, sisters-in-laws Elaine Stewart and Beth Stewart. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.
As many will attest, Al never met a stranger, he made friends everywhere he went. He managed to defy death on numerous occasions, and it was everyone’s expectation, hope and prayer that he would continue to defy the odds. He lived life to the fullest every single day. He worked hard, loved hard, and played hard. He loved what he did and did what he loved. I am not sure why it would surprise us, as his family and loved ones that he would handle death in any other manner.
While Al will be dearly missed by all who knew him, he would want everyone to know that he was more than prepared to meet his Lord and Saviour. Al was born and raised on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula, this was always home, and this is where he will be laid to rest.
Thank you to the staff at Lion’s Head, Wiarton, Owen Sound and London Hospitals for their exceptional care. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stewart Family Homestead at a date yet to be determined.
Arrangements entrusted to Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices – Jennett Memorial Centre, Barrie. Expressions of Remembrance to can be made to Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation.
