Obituary

Alison (Allie) Elizabeth May Snell of Ottawa, died in Ottawa on August 21, 2026 at the young age of 31 just 2 months before her 32nd birthday doing something she cherished alongside people she loved.

She was born on October 31, 1994, to Liz and Geoff Snell in Orleans, Ontario.

There are no words to capture how deeply she was loved and by so many. Whenever Allie entered a room, her smile lit up the whole space. She had a rare gift for making every person in the room feel seen, valued, and cared for on a personal level. It was nothing for her to drop off a meal 'just because' to a friend or to create a decadent masterpiece desert for a special life moment. She was an exceptional baker, an incredible cook, a talented musician, actress and a creative writer, often performing heartfelt and moving slam poetry. She loved everything about being outdoors like hiking in the fall, swimming and paddle-boarding in the summer and doing these things with friends.

She loved fiercely, lived generously, and exuded a playful - yet balanced - spirit that was unique, rare, and admirable.

The world lost an angel this summer.

May we always find her on the wings of the wind.

Allie is survived by her parents, Elizabeth (Hope) and Geoff Snell, her sister, Caitlin LePage, her brother Greg Snell, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a community of friends who - in all the ways that mattered - are part of that family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Navan Memorial Hall, 1295 Colonial Rd, Navan, ON K4B 1N1, on October 30, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with service beginning at 5pm. The family asks that if you have any special memories of your relationship with Allie, favourite places you went to or things you did together, please write it out in advance to share in a memories scrap book that will be available both to view and to attach your written memories.
