Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Agnes Dalisay Tabujara, of Etobicoke on May 31, 2026, at the age of 79 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Tabujara; her sister, Rebecca T. Yap and her brother, Edgar D. Tabujara; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her son's father, Stojan Rajsic; and her parents, Arturo and Adela Tabujara.

Born on September 12, 1946 in Bacolod City, Philippines, Agnes had a reputation of intelligence, competitiveness and academic prowess from an early age. After receiving multiple scholarships and offers of academic employment, Agnes came to the United States in 1968 at the age of 22, to continue her postgraduate studies in the fields of Physical Chemistry and Analytical Instrumentation. She both studied and worked at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and State University of New York at Albany. After settling in Toronto in 1972, she worked as a chemist at Johnson Matthey for a number of years. After the birth of her son, she showed her adaptability by transitioning careers into the financial world, where she represented Standard Life and Manulife. Having lived in Toronto for most of her life, Agnes was a proud Torontonian who was familiar with many of the city's unique neighbourhoods, and she had a diverse group of friends which reflected that. Some of her favourite places to visit were St. Michael's Cathedral and the Goof restaurant in the Beaches. The Islington-City Centre West and Stonegate-Queensway neighbourhoods were always closest to her heart; being the location where she raised her son and where she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows and Holy Angels Parishes. Agnes was a big fan of British mystery shows and listening to Cat Stevens and Gordon Lightfoot.

A private service will be held at the family’s request.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre for their care and compassion.
