It is with very mixed emotions that we are sharing the news of the peaceful passing of our precious and dearly loved mother, Rosemary Schwartzel (nee Andrews).
SCHWARTZEL, Rosemary (November 8, 1931 – May 8, 2023)
In the afternoon of May 8th, 2023, Rosemary, at the age of 91, and surrounded by the love of her family, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Rosemary was predeceased by her beloved husband Derrick Kenneth (February 13, 2019), and her four older siblings (Joyce, Charles, Beryl and Clive), and leaves behind many other cherished family members and dear friends both here in Canada, in South Africa and around the world.
Rosemary was the loving and adored mother of four children – Jeffrey (Rachel) Schwartzel, David (Beverley) Schwartzel, Colleen (Mike) Bragan and Venetia (Brian) Savage, as well as a treasured grandmother to Alyssa (Jay), Ryan (Carina), Nicole (Ryan), Kristyn, Jake (Amanda), Alexey, Ryan (Heather), Rebecca, Ken, Sarah, Mackenzie and Daniel and great grandmother to Ella, Kourtni, Juliet, Bradley, Emilia, Benjamin and Aria.
Rosemary was known for her love for Jesus, her beautiful, giving heart, and for her smile that would light up a room. Never one to complain, Rosemary always found the good in people and circumstances. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
At our mother’s request, in lieu of a formal funeral service, a private family burial and “celebration of life” will be held.
We wish to thank the staff of Glen Hill Strathaven, Bowmanville, for their care and kindness.
