Brendan John Dinning

March 20, 1977 — September 20, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Brendan John Dinning. Born on March 20th, 1977, Brendan peacefully departed this world on September 20th, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by the loving presence of his devoted parents, Bonnie (Lynda) and Kit (Christopher). He is survived by his cherished brother, Nathan, his sister-in-law, Tanya, and his adoring niece, Kayla, and nephew, Adrian. Brendan's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, both within our family and among his dear friends, including Elizabeth Stroh and Shaun Harkness, as well as his extensive extended family.

Throughout his life, Brendan was a passionate and dedicated sports enthusiast. In recent years, he found his true calling in hockey, skiing, and darts, excelling in each endeavor. We are eternally grateful to the Barrhaven Legion Dart Club for embracing Brendan as one of their own, appreciating the quiet strength and humility that defined his character. Brendan cherished moments surrounded by family, drawing joy from every gathering. He eagerly anticipated moments with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, finding solace and happiness in their company. His presence was a beacon of warmth, and he had an innate ability to make every family event feel special. Brendan's deep bonds with those he held dear were evident in the laughter and memories they shared. He will be remembered not only for his enduring love for family but also for the joy and comfort he brought into their lives.

In honor of Brendan's memory, we have chosen not to hold a traditional funeral service or reception. Instead, we kindly request that those who wish to pay their respects consider making a donation to the Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OCAPDD) via their website at https://www.ocapdd.on.ca/ . When making your donation, please specify that it is in memory of Brendan John Dinning. OCAPDD will graciously send a card to Kit and Bonnie Dinning at 439 Kensington Ave, Ottawa, ON, K1Z 6H1, acknowledging your thoughtful contribution.

Brendan's legacy of kindness, resilience, and his love for sports will forever be etched in our hearts. Thank you for your support during this difficult time as we remember and celebrate the beautiful life of our dear Brendan.
